By using the currency converter, You accept this Disclaimer. It adds to Our Terms and Conditions and does not replace them.
Exchange Rates Are for Reference Only
The exchange rates in the Application are provided for general information only. They help You see roughly what an amount in one currency is worth in another, for example when You plan a budget or record a purchase made abroad.
They are not the rate at which You can actually buy or sell a currency, and they are not suitable for trading, investing, making payments, accounting, tax reporting or any other purpose where an exact rate matters. Before You exchange money or pay in another currency, check the rate with the bank or service that will carry out the transaction.
Where the Rates Come From
The rates come from Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev), a free service that publishes the reference exchange rates of central banks, primarily the European Central Bank (ECB).
The Company does not set, change or verify these rates, and has no control over the Frankfurter service, its accuracy or its availability.
How Current the Rates Are
Central banks publish reference rates once a working day; the ECB publishes its rates at around 16:00 Frankfurt time. No new rates appear on weekends and public holidays. The Application downloads new rates from time to time while it is in use, and the converter shows the time of the rates it counts with, in UTC.
As a result, the rates may be hours or days old. When the Application cannot reach Frankfurter, it keeps using the last rates it downloaded or, before the first download, the rates built into the Application when that version was released, which can be considerably older.
Even when they are current, the rates may differ from those offered by Your bank, an exchange office, a card network or a payment service, which set their own rates and often add a margin or a fee.
Not Financial Advice
Nothing in the Application, including the currency converter, is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and the Company does not recommend buying, selling or holding any currency. If You need such advice, consult a qualified professional.
Limitation of Liability
The exchange rates are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without any warranty that they are accurate, complete, current or available at any given time.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for any decision You make, or any loss or damage You suffer, as a result of relying on the exchange rates shown in the Application, including rates that are delayed, inaccurate, incomplete or unavailable. The Limitation of Liability and "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer sections of Our Terms and Conditions also apply.
Your Data Stays on Your Device
All the data You keep in Wudget, including Your accounts, transactions and the amounts You convert, is stored only on Your device.
To get the rates, the Application downloads the same public list of rates that every user receives; the request contains none of Your amounts, accounts or other data. Like any request on the internet, it shows the Frankfurter service the IP address of Your device. For more, see Our Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer from time to time, for example when the source of the rates changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Changes are effective when they are posted on this page.
